About Our Lumber

Highland Hardwoods started out as a wholesale hardwood lumber company, selling truckload quantities of hardwood lumber to furniture companies and other larger secondary manufacturers in the Northeast. Over time we also started to service many of the smaller woodworking shops, cabinet shops, millwork houses in our regions, who needed higher quality hardwood lumber for the products they were making. We eventually incorporated a modest retail division, where customers could actually hand-select the hardwoods they needed for their very specific uses.

Our goal was to be able to satisfy our customers needs to matter what quantity was involved - from as large as a truckload to as little as one board - and everything in between.

To accommodate this, we expanded the depth and variety of the inventory we carried to included most all of the popular Northern and Appalachian Hardwoods in all grades and thicknesses - rough or milled to a smooth cabinet finish. We also began to carry quantities of Genuine & African Mahogany, certain Exotics, and Eastern White Pine. We have continued to add new items each year, further expanding on the variety we can offer our customers.

Most importantly, we pride ourselves with our rigid quality standards. Most of our customers are making very high end products and really need the highest quality lumber available. We are very selective in sourcing the lumber we carry, bringing in the very best quality we are able to locate from all over the US, Canada, South America and Africa. We grade and tally all the lumber we handle ourselves, to make sure it meets our own quality standards. We strive for consistency and uniformity in all the lumber we carry.
