Our premium-grade Wenge Widget Wood is surfaced on all four sides (S4S), and is renowned for its depth in color and coarse grain, making it a favorite for fine woodworking projects. Upon application of a wood finish, particularly an oil finish, the wood can become nearly black.

• Grain: Straight, very coarse, uneven texture with low natural luster
• Color: Medium brown with nearly black streaks
• Applications: High-end furniture, veneer, paneling, turned objects, and decorative projects
• Workability: Can be difficult to work with hand and machine tools. Blunts tool edges. Sands unevenly due to differences in density between light and dark areas. Very splintery, takes finishes well, but the large pores can be difficult to fill if a smooth and level finish is desired.
