4/4 Cherry Lumber is a classic American hardwood prized for its rich, warm color, fine grain, and exceptional versatility. Cherry has long been a favorite among furniture makers, cabinetmakers, and woodworkers for its beautiful appearance and ease of machining. Supplied rough sawn at approximately 1" thick, this lumber allows woodworkers to mill their material to the exact dimensions and surface quality required for their projects.

Species: American Black Cherry (Prunus serotina)
Thickness: 4/4 (approximately 1" in the rough)
Grain: Typically straight and uniform, with a fine, even texture and occasional attractive figure, including curly or wavy grain
Color: Light pinkish-brown to warm reddish-brown, naturally darkening into a deeper, richer reddish-brown with age and exposure to light
Applications: Fine furniture, cabinetry, shelving, tabletops, doors, millwork, boxes, game boards, decorative accents, and specialty woodworking
Workability: Machines, sands, glues, and finishes exceptionally well. Cherry is known for its excellent machining characteristics, dimensional stability, and ability to produce smooth, refined surfaces. Its fine grain responds beautifully to clear finishes, which enhance its natural warmth and color.

Cherry's timeless appearance, excellent workability, and rich aging characteristics make it an outstanding choice for a wide range of woodworking applications. Rough sawn lumber provides the flexibility to flatten, thickness, and dimension each board to your project's exact specifications.
