8/4 Wenge is a dense and visually striking African hardwood known for its deep brown color, bold dark grain, and distinctive coarse texture. Its heartwood typically ranges from medium brown to dark chocolate brown with nearly black streaks that give Wenge its unmistakable appearance. The substantial thickness of 8/4 stock makes it especially well suited for thick furniture components, substantial tabletops, turning projects, and other specialty applications where Wenge's dramatic natural character can take center stage.
