4/4 Purpleheart is a distinctive exotic hardwood prized for its vibrant purple color, exceptional hardness, and durability. When freshly cut, the wood may appear brownish or muted before developing its characteristic violet-purple color with exposure to light and air. Over time, the color can deepen toward darker purple and brownish-purple tones. Its bold appearance makes Purpleheart an excellent choice for projects where natural color and contrast are an important part of the design.

Workability: Very hard, dense, and strong; machines best with sharp tools and may dull cutting edges more quickly than softer hardwoods. Sands and finishes to a smooth surface that showcases its distinctive natural color
